Rhinegeist needed two wingback chairs dressed for Dad Day, a holiday event promoting Dad, the brewery’s seasonal holiday beer. Marketing supplied a red plaid, and I took on the rest. It was the first build of what became my full-time job at the brewery; the story is on the bio page.

There was no shop yet and not much time, so both chairs were done on the warehouse floor. The original foam and springs stayed. The old covers came off, and new welting and tack strip went on with the plaid, matched across the back, seat, and arms. Pattern matching is fiddly on any fabric, and this one fought back the whole way.

The chairs came back out every holiday season after, including as the set for a holiday photo booth.
